-Aftercare Assistance for Ex-Felons, now known as the "72 hour fund" program: Job Preparation/Placement, Professional Work Clothing, Locating Food Banks & Mentoring

*Job Preparation Workshops: Job seekers begin the program with a four hour Job Preparation Workshop. As part of the Job Preparation Workshop, clients receive extensive soft-skills training, conflict management training, introduction to our mentoring program, career inventory, and goals and barriers assessment. Soft-skills training includes interviewing techniques, suggestions on workplace attire, punctuality, professionalism in the workplace, and discussions on the business culture.

*Job Readiness: Workshops for high-risk youth In collaboration with the Community College of Denver and the Mayor’s Office of Workforce Development Youth Opportunity Program, DenverWorks provides week long job readiness training classes to at-risk youth on several of the CCD campuses. The program provides career and interest assesments, and overall soft-skills training.

*Job Training: Denverworks provides clients with scholarships for hard skills training including training in computers, trades, GED preparation, and other skills clients need to compete in the workforce.

*Job Placement: These services are provided in English and Spanish. The Client Manager and job seeker discuss potential jobs for the client and ways to overcome barriers to employment and create an updated resume. Client Managers and jobseekers work together on the job search. This relationship can include job coaching, job search assistance, resume reviews, referrals, transportation to interviews and service agencies, and overall ongoing client support.

*Job Coaching: Partners for Success - After the job preparation workshop, clients can request a job mentor. The volunteer mentor coordinator assigns a mentor to the client based their commonalities.

*Executive Mentoring: This mentoring program matches entry-level job seekers with high-level executives. Job seekers are encouraged to set career goals when completing their job searches.

*Job Support: After the client is successfully placed with a job, the relationship does not necessarily end. Clients can contact Client Managers for assistance with on-the-job conflicts, challenges, and most of all, continuing encouragement. DenverWorks clients are referred to our “Men @ Work” and "Women @ Work" Suits Closets and can choose professional work attire for job interviews or new positions.

*Job Development: DenverWorks conducts recruitment of and services to over 225 entry-level employers. Denverworks also offers a “Great Boss Breakfast” on a quarterly basis. These breakfasts allow business leaders to learn how to work effectively with entry-level workers and address topics such as retention, workplace education, workplace giving, workplace communication, and so forth.
